Google Cloud announced two native cost management features: early anomalies detection on AI services and spend caps on budgets. These aim to address the unpredictability of generative AI costs, where a single prompt can trigger complex operations and significant charges. The first feature, early anomalies on AI services, is part of the Anomalies tool in the billing console. It uses dynamic baseline modeling to analyze historical project data and build a seasonal baseline of daily service-level costs without manual thresholds.
