OpenAI Models Are Coming to Google Cloud

OpenAI and Google Cloud are partnering to bring OpenAI’s frontier models and Codex agentic workflows into Google Cloud’s Model Garden. The integration gives Google Cloud customers native access to these models for building complex agentic workflows at scale, with backing from Google Cloud’s data governance and high-performance infrastructure.

The announcement positions Google Cloud’s AI investment as a reason its environment is already a destination for AI workloads and the developers and data scientists building them. By putting OpenAI models in Model Garden, teams can use frontier models inside their existing workflow, which the companies say enables enterprises to modernize software development, build agentic workflows, and change how people work.

For regulated industries, control over sensitive data access is central. The partnership pairs OpenAI’s frontier models with Google Cloud’s built-in access controls, centralized data governance, and high-performance infrastructure to support demanding enterprise workloads. Google Cloud customers will be able to purchase OpenAI models through Model Garden, transacted via the Google Cloud Marketplace, and enterprises with Google Cloud spending commitments can draw down GCP commitments for these purchases.

OpenAI models will also soon be available in Google Antigravity and the Gemini Agent, giving enterprise customers more model choice flexibility. The companies frame this broader access as greater choice in how enterprises discover and use frontier models, with a path from evaluation to broader adoption. General availability is planned in the coming weeks, and interested customers can request access now. Microsoft remains OpenAI’s primary cloud partner.
