Google Public Sector Summit 2026: Where Mission Meets Moonshot

The Google Public Sector Summit 2026 will take place on October 20 at the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, D.C., gathering public sector leaders, creators, and builders to examine how Google’s secure, integrated AI stack—spanning planet-scale infrastructure, models, and agentic platforms—can turn ambitious missions into real-world outcomes. The event centers on moving beyond the question of what’s possible to delivering mission impact at scale.

The opening keynote, “Where Mission Meets Moonshot,” will feature Karen Dahut, CEO of Google Public Sector; Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud; and Chris Hein, Field CTO of Google Public Sector. They will share customer examples and live product demonstrations showing Google’s technology in action across the public sector, with additional remarks from public sector leaders collaborating with Google.

A general session called Cloud Talks, hosted by Elizabeth Moon, Managing Director of Customer Engineering for Google Public Sector, will go deeper into infrastructure, AI, and security. Speakers include Rich Sanzi, VP of Engineering for Google Cloud; Michael Gerstenhaber, VP of Product Management for Gemini; and Sandra Joyce, VP of Google Threat Intelligence. Topics include building an infrastructure foundation for the agentic era, using Google’s platforms safely, and implementing proactive defense at planet scale.

Breakout panels and birds-of-a-feather discussions will cover several areas. One panel, moderated by Tony Orlando, explores breaking down legacy data silos to create a unified, AI-ready data foundation, with speakers from NOAA, Accenture, and DLA. Another panel on automating defense, moderated by Ron Bushar, addresses applying autonomous AI and threat intelligence to protect dynamic environments at machine speed, featuring speakers from the U.S. Navy, DOE-NNSA, Texas Cyber Command, and Rhombus Power. A session moderated by Elizabeth Moon looks at how secure, cost-efficient agentic capabilities can scale mission impact, with speakers from USPTO, Case Western Reserve University, and Deloitte. Interactive birds-of-a-feather discussions will allow small groups to tackle mission blockers, share best practices, and move beyond pilot-stage projects, including topics like tokenomics, migration, and compliance.

Hands-on labs, Lightning Talks, and demos will run in the Mission Exchange on the showfloor. Topics include agentic threat defense, multimodal AI citizen services, and legacy database modernization with AI. Two expert-led labs are offered: “Getting Started with Gemini,” an introductory lab covering Gemini and Gemini Notebook for document summarization, data search, and task management; and “Build Gemini Agents: From Prompt to Prototype,” where attendees can build an AI agent for a real-world agency use case with support from Google Cloud specialists. Lightning Talks are 20-minute presentations featuring live demos, interactive Q&A, and partner/customer speakers.

The closing session, “What’s Your Moonshot?”, will be moderated by the author with NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman. It will define what a moonshot means for the public sector in the agentic era and discuss fostering a culture of courageous problem-solving. Attendees are expected to leave with a customized action plan for driving impact in their organization.
