Uber Rolls Out ChatGPT Work to 30,000 Employees

Uber announced the company-wide rollout of ChatGPT Work, an agent that helps employees handle tasks within ChatGPT Enterprise, starting today. The deployment makes ChatGPT Work available to more than 30,000 employees, expanding from an initial pilot of 1,000 employees. Uber describes it as the company’s first company-wide deployment of an agentic platform tailored for knowledge work, built to take on complex, multi-step tasks and deliver finished work.
ChatGPT Work integrates with tools Uber teams already use daily, including Google Drive, Gmail, Google Calendar, and Slack. Employees can use it to research information, prepare meeting briefs, create presentations, analyze data, and complete workflows across applications. The rollout also gives Uber access to OpenAI‘s portfolio of frontier models, with GPT-6.1 Sol deployed as the default capability within ChatGPT Work. Uber says GPT-6.1 Sol balances frontier performance and cost efficiency. OpenAI multimodal capabilities, including voice and image generation, are also available so teams can choose the right tools for different needs.
The rollout is supported by Uber‘s internal AI skills library, approved integrations, and dedicated employee training, with teams across operations, finance, marketing, and product expected to put the technology to work. Uber‘s developers and software engineering teams will continue using Codex to accelerate software development and streamline coding workflows.
The expansion is another step in Uber‘s broader AI strategy and its collaboration with OpenAI. The companies say they plan to share further insights into adoption, use cases, and measurable outcomes as the rollout progresses.
