
Playco cuts manual fixes by 50% prototyping games with GPT-6 Astra

Playco is using OpenAI’s GPT‑6 Astra in Playbot, an AI-powered IDE for game developers that connects directly to Unity and Godot.
Unlike models that only write code, Playbot enables the AI to reason about space, visual references, UI responsiveness, and game feel by editing scenes, running tests, and validating its own changes inside the engine.
The team built three themed game prototypes from a single grey box foundation, with most working on the first attempt.
Compared to the previous model, GPT‑6 Astra reduced manual fixes by 50%, improved spatial reasoning and UI responsiveness, and caught more bugs through automated playtesting.
The key gain is the ability to rapidly prototype and play many ideas instead of just imagining them.
