Google’s AI Mode adds flight tracking, hotel booking, and points display

Google has introduced new trip-planning and booking capabilities within AI Mode, its conversational search experience. Users can now ask AI Mode to track flight prices across over 300 airlines and travel sites, and receive email notifications when prices change for a chosen destination and dates. Flight price tracking is available in more than 180 countries.

For hotel booking, users can describe their preferences conversationally, see options with reviews and key factors, and then complete the booking through Google‘s integrated partners such as Booking.com, Expedia, Hilton, Marriott, and others. The booking itself is handled by the hotel or booking platform, with Google facilitating the transaction via Google Pay. Hotel booking in AI Mode is rolling out in the U.S. in English.

Additionally, AI Mode can now display flight and hotel costs in points or miles. Users can ask for options using specific loyalty programs (e.g., AA miles) and see the required miles for matching flights. This feature is available globally.

These updates signal that Google is positioning AI Mode as an AI travel agent, moving beyond information retrieval to actively help users plan and book trips within the search experience.
