Fambot is a startup that introduces an AI chief of staff for parents, aiming to reduce the mental load of managing children’s activities, school communications, and family logistics. The company was founded by CEO David Reich, a former Uber product head and UnitedMasters president, and CTO Greg Karlin, ex-Instagram engineer, later joined by Google and LinkedIn veteran Jason Morrow. Reich built the product out of his own struggle: after a full day of work, he would spend an hour catching up on emails and messages from WhatsApp groups, school apps, and sports clubs, taking time away from being present with his kids.

The service works by connecting a family’s email, calendar, and WhatsApp groups, then proactively offering a daily checklist of to-dos and a look ahead at upcoming events. Behind the scenes, Fambot uses a combination of AI models, with the explicit condition that none of the models can train on user data. Unlike other AI agents that operate only over text messages, Fambot also provides a web and mobile app interface, allowing more advanced features while still offering text-based interaction. The company plans to integrate with additional apps used by schools, sports teams, and clubs, with the goal of becoming a central hub for family communications.

Before launch, Fambot was tested by over 1,000 families. The company found that its value extended beyond busy two-parent working households to single-parent families, only-child families, and other variations, suggesting the concept is useful for any family with kids. The startup is backed by $3.5 million in pre-seed funding co-led by NextView Ventures and Baukunst, with participation from Correlation Ventures, Karman Ventures, and Founders Network. Fambot is currently free during beta on iOS, Android, and the web. The company expects to eventually price the service around the cost of a Netflix subscription, though that may change.
