Check Point Uses Daybreak to Cut Vulnerability Research From Hours to Minutes

As part of the OpenAI Daybreak Defense Network, Check Point is using Daybreak to compress vulnerability research from hours to minutes, according to Jonathan Zanger, CTO of Check Point. Check Point secures over 100,000 organizations through its AI, workspace, cloud, and network security products, and its research team investigates emerging vulnerabilities and translates findings into protections for customers. Daybreak gives defenders access to OpenAI’s frontier cyber models, which can analyze vulnerabilities, reason through attack paths, and identify security gaps in code and configurations.
Check Point’s vulnerability research workflow starts with expert analysts investigating newly disclosed threats and turning their findings into security signatures or indicators of compromise that Check Point systems use to recognize attacks. The team’s capacity was previously constrained by the number of analysts available. Zanger says Daybreak automates more of this workflow, and the models can understand vulnerabilities, analyze different attack patterns, and scan code to identify gaps. Check Point now considers these capabilities mature enough to integrate into its cybersecurity workflows, giving analysts a faster path from understanding a threat to developing a signature or indicator of compromise.
Check Point is also working with OpenAI to develop its Agentic Network Security Orchestration solution using Daybreak. The described approach combines continuous monitoring of customer environments with clearly defined operating boundaries and human approval for consequential actions. Customers would set their security objectives, and the system would explain its findings, recommended actions, and associated risks so they could decide how to proceed.
With vulnerability research now taking minutes, Check Point’s next priority is remediation: using Daybreak to help security teams address the gaps they identify. For customers, faster research supports faster development of protections against newly discovered vulnerabilities. Longer term, Check Point aims to extend the automation toward more autonomous defenses while keeping customers in control of security objectives and consequential approvals.
