Apple’s Health App Adds Health Age, Readiness Score, and Longevity Tab

Apple introduced a redesigned Health app alongside the new Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4. The update uses Apple Intelligence to surface timely information in a new Insights tab, including personalized guidance, assessments, a readiness score, and a Health Age calculation. Health Age compares metrics such as VO2 max, sleep, and blood biomarkers against the user’s actual age. A new longevity tab draws on Apple Watch and iPhone data to assess sleep, movement, and heart health, and it can incorporate lab results. Apple partnered with Quest to offer a 50-biomarker lab panel for $119.

Apple Intelligence also powers suggestions in the app, such as recommending intervals in a morning run to improve cardio health, and it goes deeper into fitness and heart health. The app supports in-depth movement assessments for people aging or recovering from injury, with a trainer demoing moves on screen. The refreshed Health app rolls out later this year, starting in U.S. English.
