Anthropic is consolidating the front end for Claude chat and Cowork into one unified interface, eliminating the need for users to choose between separate tabs for different tasks. The new design places chat, Cowork, and Artifacts—Anthropic‘s interactive workspace feature—within a single window, and Claude Design, introduced in April for website and prototype design, also becomes accessible from anywhere inside Claude.

According to TechCrunch, Anthropic said customers frequently struggled to decide which tab was appropriate for a given task before this rollout. With the redesigned interface, Claude automatically routes requests to the right part of the app, removing the need to switch tabs or windows entirely. The company’s goal is to reduce confusion about feature selection by offering one front end that directs work to the appropriate area of the product.

The update also brings dedicated presentation and document capabilities. Users can ask the assistant to create, edit, and present slides, with the option to download the result as a PDF or PowerPoint file. For Docs, users can work side by side with Claude to draft sections, ask questions, and leave comments on completed parts. Generated documents and slides can be shared via a link and edited on a mobile device. Users can also start creating a document on desktop and monitor its progress from the mobile app.

These features are rolling out first to Claude‘s Pro and Max plans across web, desktop, and mobile over the coming weeks, with free and team tiers expected later. The announcement follows an upgrade to Cowork‘s memory layer, which helps Claude maintain user context across chats.
