Anthropic has expanded its Claude for Startups program, announced during SF Tech Week on Tuesday. Qualifying companies get a free year of Claude Team, Anthropic’s paid plan for groups, with up to five premium seats, plus $1,000 in API credits for building with Claude. The package also includes access to Claude Marketplace for building plug-ins and virtual office hours with Anthropic’s Applied AI team.

Eligibility is tied to company age or recent funding: startups founded in the last five years or funded in the last two years can apply. Anthropic framed the program as part of its mission to work closely with founders and developers, saying: “We created this program because we believe the benefits of AI will reach most people through the companies that build on top of models, rather than through the models alone.” Applications are being accepted through the Claude for Startups program page.
