Anthropic and Nscale reportedly in talks for another $45B compute deal

A little over a month after Anthropic and AI infrastructure provider Nscale announced a $45 billion compute deal, Bloomberg reports the two companies may be close to announcing another $45 billion deal. Citing people familiar with the matter, Bloomberg says talks are still under way and details could change. If finalized, it would be the latest in a long series of large compute deals Anthropic has struck over the past year. TechCrunch reached out to both companies for more information and will update the story if they respond.
The scale of AI compute spending has made some investors uneasy, with concerns that companies are investing too much money for too little profit. Anthropic has continued pursuing these partnerships anyway, based on the belief that the investments will eventually pay off. Both Anthropic and Nscale are also pursuing IPOs. Anthropic is still expected to go public this year, while Nscale is seeking to go public but is reportedly facing investor pushback over its proposed $30 billion valuation, according to Bloomberg’s reporting today.
