Goldman Sachs: Google Cloud’s Full-Stack AI Strategy and Infrastructure

At the Goldman Sachs Communicopia & Technology Conference on September 8, 2026, Thomas Kurian outlined Google Cloud‘s position across the AI stack and shared updated business metrics. The talk centered on three themes: the full-stack approach, AI infrastructure economics, and adoption of broad AI solutions.
Kurian said Google Cloud is the only provider offering solutions across the entire AI stack, which expands its total addressable market, differentiates products on performance, cost, and quality, and diversifies revenue streams as the market grows. Supporting figures include 17 product lines with more than $1 billion in revenues, customers exceeding their commitments by more than 50% on average, more than 2x quarter-over-quarter and year-over-year growth in the number and value of $100 million to $1 billion deals, and more than 300 customers with $100 million-plus contractual commitments.
On infrastructure, Google Cloud‘s AI Infrastructure is built on differentiated products in a large expanding market, helping lower cost and improve performance and margins for AI models. The company cited a two-year AI server payback period and noted that TPUs have a much faster expected payback period than GPUs. The majority of AI infrastructure total contract value comes from committed five-year contracts.
For AI solutions, Gemini Enterprise has seen strong adoption, providing customers insight across their businesses in a cost-efficient manner with enterprise control and governance. Google Cloud also observed that customers using its AI products use 1.8 times as many products as those who do not. The post notes the presentation includes forward-looking statements based on assumptions as of September 8, 2026.
