Legora reviewed 41 documents in minutes with GPT-6 Astra

Legora, used by over 100,000 professionals across 1,800+ legal departments and law firms in 50 markets, is an agentic operating system for legal work. Legal engineers adapt Legora to customers’ end-to-end workflows, including contract review and legal research. One tedious workflow is financial-statement tie-out: checking each figure in draft accounts against trial balances, consolidation schedules, and prior year accounts—work that “can take an entire evening, sometimes days.”
Using GPT-6 Astra, Legora‘s Agent completed the tie-out across 41 documents in a single run within minutes. The Agent checked every balance against its supporting schedule, surfaced breaks, and recorded each check, providing a granular record for the legal professional to review. As Legal Engineer Percevale Perks noted, the difference lies in “the processing power, the ability to ingest such a large number of documents, digest really complex information.”
Legora keeps a human in the loop: the Agent handles the exhaustive comparison, while the expert remains responsible for judgment. This approach extends the platform into audit, tax, compliance, and risk. Legora evaluated GPT-6 Astra with its Benchmark for Agentic Reasoning (BAR), which measures performance on real-world legal tasks. On the tie-out workflow, GPT-6 Astra improved performance by nearly 40% over the previous model; across all BAR tasks, improvement averaged about 3%. The model found all four planted errors, including a £500,000 gap hidden in the revenue note, retained every check the previous model got right, and completed around 50 more checks. The result is a faster, more complete first pass and a clearer record, while the final decision stays with the legal expert.
