Meta AI Mac app adds system-wide dictation and business integrations

Meta has released a new Mac app for Meta AI that includes system-wide dictation and screen-aware question answering. The dictation works across all apps, similar to existing tools like Wispr Flow, Superwhisper, and Monologue, and follows Google’s recent update to its Gemini Mac app with the same capability. The app uses Meta’s Muse Spark model to look at the current screen and answer questions based on the visible context.
The Mac app is part of a broader Meta AI update aimed at business owners. Merchants can now connect Instagram and Facebook accounts, Meta ad campaigns, and Google Workspace (including Gmail, Docs, Sheets, and Slides) to ask the AI assistant for insights. Meta AI can report on campaign performance and audience engagement metrics to help understand which posts performed well. It can also access intelligence on competitors based on publicly available data.
With these business tool integrations, Meta AI can generate proposal decks, draft documents, and create spreadsheets. This push aligns with Meta’s continued focus on making AI tools available to businesses for automated customer support and inquiries across its apps, including WhatsApp and Instagram. During the Q2 2026 earnings call, CEO Mark Zuckerberg emphasized the opportunity to sell agents to businesses and automate work on their behalf.
