SAP and Google Cloud announced the general availability of SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC) Connect for BigQuery. The service provides zero-copy, bi-directional access to data products across SAP Business Data Cloud and Google Cloud‘s BigQuery and Knowledge Catalog (formerly Dataplex). This allows users to query SAP tables, metadata, and business semantics directly within BigQuery, and vice versa, without data replication. The architecture is designed to reduce data silos and total cost of ownership by eliminating storage and data sharing fees.

The integration supports scaling AI on trusted data, deploying multi-agent workflows using Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform and SAP Joule, and improving business analytics with natural language queries via Gemini Enterprise or Joule. It also enables combining SAP data with external datasets like Google Trends and Google Maps, with the option to publish enriched data back to SAP.

Several partners provided early feedback. Accenture cited the ability to unify data for scaling agentic AI. Deloitte built an autonomous procurement agent that reads live SAP inventory and market data to reroute orders during a supplier shift. KPMG, PwC, and early customer ElringKlinger also shared positive assessments. Executives from both SAP and Google Cloud highlighted the role of shared semantic metadata and agentic context in enabling autonomous AI agents for complex business processes.

SAP BDC Connect for BigQuery is generally available globally for all Google Cloud customers. It supports SAP BDC instances hosted on Google Cloud and AWS, with Azure support coming soon. Standard Google Cloud regions are listed, with SAP BDC Connect available in specific regions including Sydney, São Paulo, Mumbai, Tel Aviv, Frankfurt, Osaka, Dammam, and Iowa.
