Character.AI launches interactive microdramas with a chat-focused twist

Character.AI is entering the microdrama space, but it is not just producing short-form video content.

The company’s twist is that its three initial shows—a romance called “Last Summer,” a horror series titled “The Nighttime Game,” and a survival drama named “Eden Fall”—are built around AI characters that users over 18 can chat with, ask questions, and roleplay alternate storylines.

This turns passive viewing into an interactive experience, leveraging the company’s existing chatbot infrastructure rather than competing head-on with TikTok, Instagram, or streaming platforms that are also chasing the microdrama trend.
